Every day, large amounts of hair are cut in hair salons. Often, this hair simply ends up in the trash, even though it is actually a valuable resource. A missed opportunity, because cut hair can still play an important role — for both people and the environment.
That is why Green Circle Salons and the Haarstichting (Hair Foundation) have joined forces. Hair that is long enough (from 20 cm) can be donated and processed into wigs for people who have lost their hair due to illness or medical treatments. Hair that is shorter is recycled through Green Circle Salons and given a second life — for example in hair mats used to clean up oil spills.
Together, we are working toward one clear mission: a beauty industry that is both circular and compassionate. Where no hair is wasted and every lock can make a positive impact.
